Weekly poll results: the Honor Magic V2 is too pricey
The Honor Magic V2 may have taken its sweet time before launching in Europe, but that’s not the biggest problem with the phone – last week’s poll suggests the high price will keep most people away.
One in three voters chose this option. Foldables are expensive, sure, but £1,700/€2,000 is too much for the V2’s mass appeal.
The Magic Foldable isn’t far behind in terms of having older hardware (only 11% chose this option), but it’s a latecomer in the sense that other foldables are already being sold in Europe and are priced lower. They’re not as thin as the Magic V2, but they’re a few hundred euros cheaper.
There’s also the other thing, 12% of voters are spending their time, waiting to see which new foldable will be released – the Magic V2 is a 2023 design, while things like the Galaxy Z Fold6 are about six months away (and rumored to be already on). .
Will Samsung really make a cheap Z Fold6? We don’t know, but the Z Fold5 will be available for under €1,300 these days. Either way the ball is in honor’s court.
The company will bring the Honor V2 RSR to MWC later this month, though this Porsche-designed phone will do little for those looking for a lower price point.
