Vivo X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro rumored to be unveiled at the end of March
We’ve been seeing leaks about the upcoming Vivo Horizontal Foldable, but one detail has so far eluded discovery – the launch date. Now Weibo poster Panda is sharing the unexpected information that the new model (models, actually) will arrive at the end of March.
The leakster highlights the March 26-28 window (which is Tuesday to Thursday in the last week of the month) as a possible date for the launch event. This is for vivo X Fold3 and new Pro version. For reference, the X Fold2 was unveiled on April 20 last year, so it’s a month ahead of schedule.
A report form a few days ago suggested that the vivo X Fold3 Pro will be the first foldable with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the vanilla X Fold3 will use the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for the Pro and Dimensity 9300 will be announced for the vanilla version.
It’s quite possible that both reports are true – Vivo has used different chips for the Chinese and international versions of the phone in the past.
The vanilla Vivo X Fold3 will have a triple 50MP camera: main, ultra wide and 2x tele. The Pro model will move the third module to a 64MP periscope (focal length unknown).
The Pro model should feature 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, matching the X Fold2. The Pro is expected to be both dust and water resistant, a first for a Vivo foldable.
Apart from the foldable, Vivo may also unveil the next generation of tablets – the Vivo Pad 3 and Pad 3 Pro (a new branch of the Pro Pad family). Like the foldable, the tablets are said to be powered by Dimensity 9300 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 respectively.
