Tecno has a new entry-level phone in its Pop series with the Tecno Pop 8. The device is the successor to the Pop 7 and offers a 90Hz display, better camera and more RAM and storage than its predecessor.
The Pop 8 is equipped with a 6.6-inch LCD with 720p resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Inside a punch hole cutout is an 8MP front-facing cam and dual flash at the top. The Tecno is also bringing its Dynamic Port which uses the area around the punch hole cutout to display useful notifications, charging status and call status.
The rear houses an AI cam as well as a 13MP main shooter with an LED flash in the third cutout and interestingly a second smaller flash above it. Unisoc’s T606 chipset is backed by 3/4GB RAM and 64/128GB storage which is expandable via microSD card slot. The software side is covered by Android 13 (Go version) while the battery comes in at 5,000 mAh and supports 10W charging.
The Techno Pop 8 comes in Mystery White, Alpenglo Gold, Magic Skin and Gravity Black colors. Pricing and availability are not provided at this time but the leak indicates a starting price of INR 7,000 ($85) in India.
