Sony Xperia 5 V’s key specs revealed through Geekbench

Sony Xperia 1V and Xperia 10 V were launched last May. Now the Japanese brand has announced the launch date of their next Xperia smartphone, the Xperia 5 V is the successor to the Xperia 5 IV which was launched last year and is set to hit the market early next month.

Sony has confirmed that they are discontinuing the Xperia 5V on September 1st at 4pm (local time). The company also shared a short teaser highlighting the device’s camera, especially low-light photography.

No additional details of the Sony Xperia 5V have been released. However, a promotional video of the device was leaked online last month, which showcased the phone’s pill-shaped protruding rear camera module. The module has two sensors and an LED flash unit and a Zeiss T* coating.

According to recent reports, the Sony Xperia 5 V will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, paired with 16GB of RAM. The Xperia 5 V has already been approved by the China Compulsory Certification (3C) site, which lists that the phone will support 33W fast charging.
