Samsung is working on a 50W dual USB-C charger and a new 45W charger
Current expectations for the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are that they’ll support the same charging speeds as their 2023 predecessors – 45W for the Plus and Ultra, 25W for the vanilla S23. The two smaller models will have slightly larger batteries but only 100/200mAh.
Still, Samsung is working on a new charger, writes leakster Roland Quandt. The first will be the wired Samsung Charger Duo 50W. It will have two USB-C ports, so it can max out at 45W using one port and 2x 25W using both. The model number of this charger is EP-T5020.
The other is a refresh of the Samsung 45W Power Adapter (EP-T4510) known as the EP-T4511. It’s not entirely clear what the differences will be here, except that the charger should have a single USB-C port like the older model.
The old T4510 supports USB PD 3.0 PDO and PPS, the new one doesn’t have much to add because USB PD 3.1 primarily works with a higher power range (up to 240W), so it’s not needed.
It goes without saying that these new chargers will be a separate purchase – like many other smartphone manufacturers, Samsung no longer includes chargers in the box with its phones.
