Like last year’s models, the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ have stereo speakers — well, a bottom-firing speaker and earpiece. Although Samsung hasn’t said much about it, the 2024 models apparently come with upgraded speakers. Here, have a listen.
We record our tests in a controlled acoustic environment, playing through a selection of different music genres that you can listen to. There is also a sweep of the entire frequency range, so we can draw the frequency response curves below.
Samsung has improved the S24 series mids at the expense of some bass, but the latter comes across a range that the human ear can’t perceive. Also, the speakers are significantly louder than their predecessors (with a small difference between this year’s vanilla and Plus models).
If you put on a pair of headphones, you’ll hear that the improvement is bigger than it might seem at first. Has good stereo separation.
