Samsung Galaxy AI is coming to these older devices

Yesterday, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra – all three models are keeping pace with AI. Galaxy AI, actually. They will definitely run Android 14, with One UI 6.1 on top – unlike any other Samsung device so far (they’re all One UI 6 on top).

So, if you have an older Samsung, you might be wondering if your device will get some of those AI features at some point. The good news: the answer is yes. “Many” of them, according to Samsung itself.

The models that will, at least initially, get these AI features are the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. All of these will get their AI infusion in the first half of the year.

We assume this means they’ll be updated to One UI 6.1 by the end of June, and will include “many” AI features first seen in the S24 family – many, but not all, mind you. It’s still unclear which features will make the cut and which won’t, but stick around and we’ll let you know when we know.
