Poco M6 gets official in India with Dimensity 6100+, 8GB of RAM

The Oppo A59 isn’t the only smartphone to make its official global debut in India today. Added to this is the Poco M6, a device powered by MediaTek’s Dimension 6100+ SoC, paired with 4/6/8GB of RAM – and supports an additional 8GB via RAM expansion.

The Poco M6 has a 6.74-inch 720×1,600 LCD screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 600-nit peak brightness, Gorilla Glass protection on top (though no version is specified), 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, microSD expansion support. . . . A 5,000 mAh battery with dual-SIM functionality, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and support for 18W charging.

It has a 50MP main rear camera, is dust and splash resistant and runs Android 13 with MIUI 14 on top. The first sale is taking place on December 26, and the Poco M6 will be offered in Galactic Black and Orion Blue.

If all these specs look familiar, that’s because the Poco M6, as previously rumored, appears to be a straight-up rebrand of the Redmi 13C 5G, which was released last week. Of course the back design is slightly different with different branding touches applied by Poco, but otherwise… they seem identical.

The regular price of the Poco M6 is INR 10,499 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, INR 11,499 for the 6/128GB version and INR 13,499 if you want the top-spec 8/256GB iteration. However, with a bank offer you can get the M6 for just INR 9,499 and this, according to Poco, makes it the most affordable 5G-enabled smartphone available in India.
