Oppo A2x debuts with Dimensity 6020, $150 price tag
The Oppo A2x was teased last week, but the company finally unveiled the smartphone over the weekend. It’s an affordable handset with a Dimensity 6020 chipset and only a rear camera and prices start at $150 (equal).
The screen is a 6.56” LCD, a panel Oppo has been using for its A series for the past three years. The screen has HD+ resolution, 90 Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 720 nits.
There is a waterdrop notch at the top for a 5 MP selfie camera. The rear lone snapper is 13 MP with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash at the bottom.
The 7nm chipset has 6 GB or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, paired with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, respectively. The Oppo A2x has a microSD slot on the left side; The power key on the right, doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
The A2x comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, but there’s no word on charging speed, suggesting a slower rate.
The phone takes two nano SIM cards and runs Android 13 with ColorOS 13.1 on top, other features are a 3.5mm audio jack, and IP54 water and dust-resistant body.
Oppo is offering the A2x in three colors – black, yellow and purple, with the latter two having a nice texture on the back. The price is CNY1,099 ($150/€142) for the 6/128 GB version and CNY1,399 ($190/€180) for the 8/256 GB option. The phone is already on sale in China, but we don’t expect Oppo to sell it internationally.
