OnePlus Ace 3’s flagship-tier OLED display teased

OnePlus will launch the Ace 3 in China next week, and we’ll finally know more details about the smartphone. The brand has shared the display specs, revealing that it will be the same top-tier OLED panel used on the OnePlus 12.

The panel is officially called 8T LTPO and comes in 800 nits manual brightness and 1,600 nits auto mode. The most impressive feat is 4,500 nits of peak brightness; The panel also received an A+ mark from DisplayMate.

The phone is expected to arrive as the OnePlus 12R in late January alongside the global variant of the OnePlus 12 flagship. The brand says the Ace 3 will have a metal frame and a frosted glass panel at the back. It will stick with the seamless design for the camera island that we’ve seen on top-tier OnePlus phones over the past two generations, and come in pretty blue or bronze colors.

A teaser also revealed that the alert slider will have three modes – silent, vibrate and ring. We’re surprised that OnePlus has advertised this feature as it’s present on multiple phones in the company’s portfolio, and one expects it to return to the Ace 3.

The January 4 launch will also see the introduction of the OnePlus Buds 3 TWS earphones, which will have improved sound quality and better air isolation during calls.
