OnePlus 12 to rectify the OnePlus 11’s shortcomings, new leak claims
The OnePlus 12 is coming soon – depending on which rumors you go by, it will be announced in December or January (although it’s unclear if there will be just a global announcement, or a separate one for China initially like last year).
If you’ve been eyeing the OnePlus 11 and thought you were missing out on some essential phone features, here’s some good news. It looks like the OnePlus 12 will correct all the faults of its predecessor, according to a new rumor from the usually very reliable digital chat station on Weibo.
Unlike the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus 12 has wireless charging support, no less than 50W. It obviously packs USB 3.2 support and an IR blaster on its USB-C port. As previously rumoured, it will get a “high-quality periscope” zoom lens, with 3x optical zoom and a 64MP sensor.
All these things that were missing from the OnePlus 11, and they seem to have been added to the OnePlus 12, making it one of the most high-end devices to bear the OnePlus name. With that being said, we wouldn’t be at all surprised if the prices go up with the expanded specials list.
As per previous rumours, the OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 16GB or 24GB of RAM, at least 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage and a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W charging support. Expect a 6.82-inch 120 Hz QHD+ screen with 2,600-nit peak brightness and of course Android 14 with OxygenOS 14 on top.
