Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro goes international with a $649 starting price
The Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro was launched in China last month and today the brand has brought the device to overseas markets. The smartphone has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a unique design – it is flat on all sides – no curved screen or camera bump and the aluminum sides are also flat.
The latest Qualcomm chipset is paired with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while the storage options are 256 GB or 512 GB in global units. There is also a cooling system with an area of over 10,000 square millimeters to keep temperatures low.
The Red Magic 9 Pro also has an air duct, which is larger than its predecessors, and the fan is faster – it can reach 22,000 RPM.
The Red Magic 9 Pro has a 50MP main camera, along with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a basic 2MP macro lens.
The phone’s gaming focus continues with a pressure-sensitive shoulder trigger and a dedicated slider control (based on Android 14) to launch RedMagic OS 9’s gaming mode. The 6,500 mAh battery comes with 80W wired charging.
Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro has three colors and two versions. The Slit (Black) comes with a 12/256 GB and costs $649/£579/€649. The Avalanche (Silver) and Cyclone (Clear) variants come with 16GB RAM, 512GB storage and $799/£709/€799 price tags.
Pre-orders will open on the website worldwide on December 27, 2023 and on-sale will begin on January 3, 2024.
