nubia Flip arrives for sale as the cheapest foldable on the market
The foldable Nubia Flip debuted at MWC 2024, where it was revealed that it will be the cheapest foldable phone on the international market. Today, the smartphone has been launched in China, where it has an even more attractive starting price – CNY2,999, which is around $415.
The Nubia Flip is a carbon copy of the ZTE Libero Flip, launched in Japan at JPY 63,000 ($420). It has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 50 MP main camera and a 6.9” OLED foldable screen. Pricing in Japan is for the 6/128 GB version, while the base model in China has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The cover screen is a circular display with a 1.43” diagonal (technically a diameter) and can be used as a camera viewfinder to show call taking, media playback controls, weather and other basic widgets. The company revealed that its dual-rail suspended hinge can withstand more than 200,000 openings, which is the industry standard.
The device has a 4,310 mAh battery with 33W wired charging support. The color options are Black, Gold and Pink, while the upgraded options are – 12/256 GB for CNY3,299 ($455) and 12/512 GB for CNY3,699 ($510).
