It’s been almost a year since Huawei announced the Band 8, and the company has already teased that a Band 9 is on its way, possibly with wireless Pro 2 headphones. A new leak claims that both the devices could go on sale in April.
We have many high-resolution and official-looking images of the so-called Huawei Band 9, thanks to apparently careless retailers. Band 9, model number KIM-B19, codenamed “Kimi,” appears to be virtually identical to its predecessor. It became the standard for Huawei bands as the Band 8 wasn’t really that different from its predecessor.
The Huawei Band 9 still offers a 1.47-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 368×194 pixel resolution and a 180 mAh onboard battery. You still get 5 ATM water resistance, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for connectivity, sources say, while the Band 9 will remain unchanged at €59.
What has changed is the color selection. According to sources, five colors are planned for the device: black, blue, white, yellow and pink. New straps will also be available, including a textile strap that comes with the Blue Band 9.
Huawei promised “a new era in wrist fashion and sleep enhancement” in its Band 9 teaser, so perhaps we can look forward to some new features as well.
