Here are some camera samples from the Galaxy S24 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is here and we got a chance to spend some quality time with it. We used it, among other things, to sample a few cameras with the new AI-powered ‘quad tele’ camera system, as Samsung calls it.
A word before we get to the photos – these shots are more of a quick look rather than a dedicated test. And we’ll reserve our critical judgment for review, when we shoot in a controlled environment.
Samsung has moved from a 3x + 10x setup on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra to a 3x + 5x setup on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The new 5x camera has a much larger 1/2.6-inch sensor that Samsung says will be able to take 10x better photos than the dedicated zoom unit it replaces.
The 50MP 5x telephoto has 2x wider OIS angles and 1.6x larger pixels than the 10MP 10X telephoto and is backed by the considerable AI-power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It comes with Provision Engine, which ensures better sound performance as well as superior picture characteristics.
Here’s a demonstration of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s range – from 0.6x to 100x at the ultrawide end.
