Google Pixel 8a leaks in CAD-based renders, looks like a Pixel 8

Google has just launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, but there will surely be a third member of the family – the more affordable, mid-range, Pixel 8a. It’s expected to be released in the next few months, and today it’s leaked in all its glory in some CAD-based renders.

The design language is, unsurprisingly, incredibly rounded corners with what we’ve seen on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro – as it should be, we might add, since most of these three devices share their names.

There’s a camera ‘visor’ on the back and a more prominent bezel on the screen than the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, betraying the 8a’s lower price point. The Pixel 8a measures 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm. This means it will be roughly the same size as its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, which comes in at 152 x 72.9 x 9mm.

Thus the 8a’s screen size should be around the 6.1-inch mark, and you can see that the selfie camera has a centered hole-punch on the back with two snappers.

According to a benchmark run from August, the Pixel 8a will run an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset that powers the other two Pixel 8s. The 8a will have 8GB of RAM and of course will run Android 14 from day one.
