Asus ROG Phone 8 launch date confirmed, new renders leak

Asus is gearing up to launch its ROG Phone 8 gaming phone and the launch date is finally upon us. Asus will announce its 2024 ROG lineup on January 8 at CES in Las Vegas which should include the ROG Phone 8 series. The official ROG Weibo account has confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 is launching in China on January 16.

The Chinese ROG account shared a short teaser video showing the ROG Phone 8’s display, which will feature a punch-hole cutout for the first time in the series. The display will also feature slimmer bezels compared to past ROG Phone models.

Asus has shared more close-up renders of the recently teased ROG Phone 8 detailing the new back design and its pentagon-shaped camera cutout.

Asus is also hosting a blind camera test for the ROG Phone 8 which suggests that the company is hard at work overhauling the camera setup on the upcoming device.

We know the ROG Phone 8 will launch with three camera sensors but we don’t have any specific information about the sensors yet.

ROG Phone 8 is expected to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 24GB RAM, 65W charging and Android 14.
