Earlier in the week, we showed you a video about drop and scratch testing Google’s latest and greatest, the Pixel 8 Pro. And today we’re back with a slightly different kind of ‘durability test’, this time from JerryRigEverything.
As usual with Zach’s videos, there is a screen scratch test with no unexpected results. The metal frame is then scratch tested and found to be indeed made of metal. After being subjected to an open flame for about 17 seconds the display gets a permanent burn mark and then it goes to the main event.
Bending test. Perhaps surprisingly, since it appears to have the same antenna line placement as its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro, the Pixel 8 Pro is completely rigid. The Pixel 7 Pro isn’t half as flashy as other phones, but the camera is too flexible for comfort under the visor.
The Pixel 8 Pro is much better, with barely any flex. So despite the similar looks on the outside, there are definitely some welcome changes in the internal structure.
