New Pixel 8 Pro leak details Tensor G3 chip ahead of announcement

Google is announcing its Pixel 8 series tomorrow and we’ve already seen numerous leaks, but here’s one more. M. from This Is Tech Today. Brandon Lee has shared several images of the Pixel 8 Pro running the DeviceInfo HW and AIDA64 apps that reveal details of the new Tensor G3 chip.

The Tensor G3 has a 9-core CPU with a Cortex-X3 prime core clocked at 2.91 GHz, 4x Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.37GHz and 4x Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. Another notable bit is the Mali-G715 GPU and 12GB of RAM. The Tensor G3 is built on Samsung’s 4nm process technology and includes the FO-WLP packaging process which should result in lower heat generation and better power efficiency than the Tensor G2.

Apart from the chipset details, the latest leak also confirms a Goodix optical fingerprint scanner integrated inside the display panel. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to launch with a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen with QHD+ resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate. On the back there will be a 50MP main camera as well as a 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom and a new 48MP ultrawide camera.

The software side should be handled by Android 14 and the device will be available in Obsidian, Sky Blue and Porcelain colors. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to start at $899 in the US and £999 in the UK.
