Weekly poll results: Tecno Phantom V Flip’s low price is its biggest advantage

Slowly but surely foldables are moving towards an affordable range. And it’s not the old flagship killer brand but Tecno’s premium brands – the Phantom V Flip launches in India at ₹50,000 and will cost €700 in Europe. This makes it the cheapest foldable yet.

For comparison, the Rarz 40 is one of the most affordable flip foldables and is priced at ₹60,000/€900. The V Flip has a few rough edges, but as we found in our review, it’s a very compelling package for the price.

That’s enough for a fifth of last week’s voters counting on kickoff day — which is today, at least in some areas. That said, Tecno hasn’t detailed the global rollout, so only fans in India can get one right now.

Many others will join them when Tecno brings the Phantom V Flip to new markets. The good news for the company is that very few people think this phone is too expensive, which is usually the #1 complaint when it comes to foldables. People have praised the Phantom’s design.

The bad news is that many people think there are better Flips out there – one or more generations of other brands have ironed out the issues. Then again, there isn’t much foldable competition in this price range at the moment. Indeed, flip foldables are few and far between at any price, so it’s great to see more options outside of China.
