Huawei Nova Y62 and Y62 Plus launched with 5000mAh battery, 2.2GHz chip and 50MP triple camera setup

Huawei has quietly launched the Huawei Nova Y62 series, a new mid-range smartphone lineup in South Africa. It consists of two models: Nova Y62 and Nova Y62 Plus. Let’s take a look at the specs, features and price of both the phones.

The Nova Y62 and Y62 Plus feature a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels) and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Both phones run on a mysterious octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz. Huawei Nova Y62 comes in 4GB/128GB variant and Y62 Plus has an 8GB/128GB variant. Both have a microSD card slot for additional storage. The Nova Y62 series runs on Android 12, with a layer of EMU 12 on top.

While these devices come with Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) but lack Google Mobile Services, they both have dual cameras – a 50MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and an LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera. Both the Y62 and Y62 Plus have a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging support.

Other features are dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a USB-C port, a side-facing fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The device will come in two colors – Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black. The series is now available in South Africa. As of now the price of Huawei Nova Y62 and Y62 Plus is not known yet. We hope to get this series to other regions as soon as possible.
